The International Mural Fest is an annual art competition that is held in Sheffield – Town of Murals, in Tasmania, Australia.
This year, 9 artists were engaged in a public paint-off over six and a half days using the same poem as their mural’s central theme.

Fire and Life by Cindy Bennett
Submerged beneath earth,
Molten rock spews forth its fire,
Creating new life.

The mural above – my favorite – is by a local artist, Gillian Robnik (pictured here in the center). She won the competition in 2007 and came close this year.
