Well, spring started 5 days ago. Sun was shining and flowers blooming. This weekend unfortunately = rain and gloom.

Come to think of it, I have been pretty much ‘Burnie bound’ throughout winter – there hasn’t been much variety to my photography lately.
……… things will get interesting hopefully, as I am heading to ACT and Queensland for a total of 9 days. Leaving next Tuesday.
Will bring along my ‘internet stick’ so should be able to post little updates here and there.

This is from my 4th roll of Ilford FP4+
Have tried developing in Rodinal 1:50 with different times.
This particular roll was developed in Rodinal 1:100. Looks pretty good. Very smooth tonal range. A few more changes that I would like to try though – to give it a bit more edge. Perhaps a slightly longer developing time or more vigorous agitation.

Street photography is fun.
However, where I live……. not a lot of street for me to indulge in street photography.

Nature, on the other hand, is in glorious abundance all around.
Used to do quite a bit of landscape photography when I had my Nikon D700. Problem was, the filters, tripod lugging and also the ‘Golden’ hours eventually got the better of me. Photography became too slow. Heavy too.

Nowadays, I just walk and click.
Not saying that this is a better way – just the kind of photography I prefer.

Paw Steps

Paw Steps, Burnie beachfront.
Was working last Sunday and it was unusually quiet. Thus, I managed to sneak down to the beach and shot a roll of Tri-X.
A storm was approaching, the tide was high, the waves pounding and the beach deserted – there was a strange sense of peace.

Puddle Ducks

Puddle ducks, Romaine Reserve, Burnie.

A great park for a slow Sunday morning stroll.
There is a walking track that winds around a dam on Romaine creek. Domestic and wild fowls abound.

For this shot, I used Tri-X pushed to ISO1600 and souped in Rodinal. Great tonal range with much less grain than expected.
