Puddle ducks, Romaine Reserve, Burnie.

A great park for a slow Sunday morning stroll.
There is a walking track that winds around a dam on Romaine creek. Domestic and wild fowls abound.

For this shot, I used Tri-X pushed to ISO1600 and souped in Rodinal. Great tonal range with much less grain than expected.

Me, Myself & I

My name is Ferraby. I am an amateur film photographer currently living in Burnie, Tasmania.

Most days, I see the world in black and white. I prefer photographing spectacles that eventuate on its own - things that are happening in front of me, situations that I don’t have to complicate, capturing what is given to me.

‘and sometimes i just sits’ is a scrapbook of sorts for me. A place to share my images in some composed manner with a larger audience. It is also a progressive project to drive my creativity. I sincerely hope that you enjoy the photographs I have on display here. If you have any comments or criticism about what you see, I would love to hear them.

A few words…..

Most of the photographs here were taken in and around Tasmania. Having said that, you will see pictures from my previous/recent travels elsewhere every now and then. The earlier images were made with my digital gears. My workflow is now completely film based.

The ‘Gallery’ is where I categorize my pictures into different genres. The groupings are based purely on my current photographic interest and also what I think might interest you - the viewer. Most of the images can be found in more than one category.
The ‘Tags’ at the bottom of the page let me organize my photos in a more specific manner. My pictures are tagged - location, film, equipment - for those who are interested.
