BattambAng or BattambOng

Spelled as BattambAng everywhere but pronounced as BattambOng by the locals. Arrived here after a 4hr journey by bus. A rather scenic drive across countryside with paddy fields stretching as far as the eye can see.

Looking back, I enjoyed Siem Reap a lot. Could easily stay a few extra days and chill. Those who have been to Khao San Road, Bangkok, it is a bit like that but much nicer with a better vibe and atmosphere.

The temples were magnificent. Here is a picture taken in Beng Mealea.

Tuk Tuk

Tuk tuks are one of the main transports here in Siem Reap – especially for tourists.

Just completed a 4 hr roundtrip on one of these machines. It was great.

The Sampot

The Sampot is what Cambodians use to wear once upon a time long long ago. The image below is a carving showing both the front and back views.

Went to Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom today. The highlight was definitely Bayon.

Finally…. Mobile updates.

Finally, I can start mobile blogging!!
Been trying to set up a way to update my posts using my iPhone but was unsuccessful until today – thanks to Wordpress App for iPhone :)

As you may already know, I started my travels on the 14th of November from Australia to Egypt and now, I’m in Siem Reap, Cambodia.

There are quite a few things that I would like to share with you but perhaps not today because I would rather start off with a picture and more importantly, sleep – waking up at 4am tomorrow to catch the sunrise at Angkor Wat!!!

Egyptair

Flew from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Cairo, Egypt on the 19th of November via Egyptair.
Not too impressed with the airline.
