Apple Isle

Apple Isle - D700, 28mm, f16, 1/50, ISO 400

Tassie has the largest apple-growing industry in the country, and was one of the main apple-growing areas in the world for many years.

Although the apple industry is no longer as strong as it was in the last century, apples are still grown in large quantities particularly in southern Tasmania. The name ‘Apple Isle’ has remained, partially due to the fact that Tasmania is also vaguely shaped like an apple.
