Catch Me If You Can

Catch Me If You Can - D80, 24mm, f4, 1/640, ISO 200

Taken at Van Diemen Tulip Farm in October 2008 during the annual Bloomin’ Tulips Festival.

Back then, i was still using my D80 and was contemplating an upgrade to a D700 with a ‘Prime Only’ set up. Had my eyes on the Carl Zeiss Distagon 35mm f2. So, to see if i can survive with a prime only kit, i went to the farm with my Tokina 12-24mm set at 24mm throughout the whole photoshoot (to roughly match 35mm in full frame). I was quite happy with the end result, took a few decent pictures…..not great but i was satisfied.

This shot was one of my favorite from the series. I see innocence in this image.

…..oh by the way, i have since upgraded to a D700 and a few primes. Through a series of unfortunate (or fortunate) events, i didn’t end up getting the Carl Zeiss…..

Ilan - That’s amazing outcome.
You living my dream :) even more than I want the D700, that wide lens is a huge dream for me. Seeing this photo, only makes me want it more.
Great image.

Ferraby - The Tokina 12-24mm f4 DX is a great lens. Very sharp with good contrast.

Shivantha - Great work Ferraby, you are a genius behind the lens. Never thought you were so good. Keep it up. Will spread the word around

Ferraby - Much thanks Shivantha !!
